This is one of the premier departments in JITM. The department aims to harness the entrepreneurial and managerial talent of the students to groom their personality and to develop an interest in the field of Information Technology in them. It offers two courses which are designed keeping in mind the
latest industry trends.

1. B Tech. Information Technology
2. B Tech. Computer Science & Engineering

The department of computer science & engineering is adequately equipped with four well-designed laboratories with more than 200 most modern PCs. It has a separate computer lab in the Girls hostel, for the central library and all the heads of the departments. Computer systems for office administration are connected to a central control system by an excellent campus wide LAN Network loaded with advanced software powered by Windows NT servers. The institute has softwares like Windows 2000, SCO - Unix, Linux, Novel Netware 6.0, Sun Solaris to cater to the academic needs of the students and staff.

The computer labs also provide facility for software, implementing projects on web designing etc. The lab also offers Internet facility to the student community from 7 A.M to 8.30 P.M. Students participate in various projects undertaken by the department on behalf of external agencies, this facility is provided to the students across departments.

The department has also conducted seminars on topics such as Data Warehousing & Data Mining, Geographic Information Systems, Remote sensing, Recent advances in Image processing, Cryptography, Mobile communication, Artificial Intelligence applications, Biometrics, Bioinformatics & Chemi-informatics etc. to keep students abreast with the latest trends across industry verticals.
